Isopropyl 5 l – Professional cleaner for surface preparation before PPF film installation

Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) with a purity of at least 99 % in a larger, economical 1-liter package is ideal for professional surface preparation before applying PPF films. It reliably removes grease, dust, waxes, and residues of polishes and ensures a perfectly clean base without residues and streaks.

Thanks to its fast evaporation and gentleness on the surface, it is suitable not only for car bodies but also for plastic and glass parts. It can be used alone or as part of an installation mixture with distilled water. The 1-liter volume is suitable for regular use in workshops as well as mobile applications.

PPF JEM application:

• Remove from the vehicle any parts that could release impurities during bonding (badges, trims, signs, lights, handles, etc.), if possible
• Wash the vehicle very carefully. Remove all contamination from the paint (asphalt, flying rust, adhesive residues from protective foil used during new vehicle transport, etc.)
• After positioning the vehicle at the application place, it is advisable to use wheel covers and connect the vehicle to a maintenance power source.
• Try to eliminate dust around the vehicle during work and avoid wearing clothing that could release lint.
• Dry PPF after removing the carrier layer is charged with static electricity, so it is important to work in a way that dust particles do not stick to the adhesive side.
• Use the correct solution and bonding technique to avoid damaging the adhesive and thus causing unwanted streaks, bubbles, adhesive cracks, etc.
• Degrease the edges of the bonded part with clean IPA and decontaminate each part before bonding with soft clay.
• Lightly spray the bonded part and both sides of the PPF with a shampoo and distilled water solution (distilled water does not leave spots on the vehicle after drying). Use 2 - 2.5 ml shampoo per 500 ml of water (more shampoo is advisable at higher workshop temperatures or when bonding complex parts)
• The shampoo solution protects the adhesive during handling and positioning of the PPF on the part but does not activate the adhesive on the paint. Therefore, it must be rinsed with clean water, preferably distilled, poured in a pressure sprayer in a larger amount.
• To position and stretch the material, hold the corners of the film on the surrounding parts and always rinse out the shampoo solution preferably outside the part on which PPF is applied (catch the hood on the fenders and below on lights and bumper)
• Carefully squeegee off excess shampoo solution so there are no residues or bubbles, wash edges with clean water
• If you need to fix the material immediately, use a solution of distilled water and IPA in a 1:3 ratio
• Dry the glued foil with a towel and check for any impurities or water residues under the foil
• Trim excess material as needed and according to the part type by 3-4 mm for folding over the edge.
• Fold immediately using nonwoven fabric and a hot air gun. Gradually push out all water from the edges while heating the adhesive side with a hot air gun set to 65°C
• You can hand over the vehicle after 24-48 hours depending on the season
