JEM PPF Application Instructions:

1. If possible, remove parts of the vehicle that may release debris during application (e.g., badges, trims, emblems, lights, handles, etc.).

2. Thoroughly wash the vehicle. Remove all contamination on the paint (e.g., tar, industrial fallout, adhesive residue from the protective film used during transportation of new vehicles, etc.).

3. Once the vehicle is ready for application, use wheel covers and connect the vehicle to a maintenance power source.

4. Minimize dust in the surrounding area and wear clothing that does not shed lint during the process.

5. Dry PPF is charged with static electricity after peeling off the carrier layer, so work in a way that prevents dust particles from adhering to the adhesive side.

6. Use the correct solution and technique to avoid damaging the adhesive, which could result in unwanted streaks, bubbles, or tears.

7. Clean the edges of the application area with pure IPA, and decontaminate each section with soft clay before starting.

8. Spray a light mixture of shampoo and distilled water on both the PPF and the application area (distilled water prevents spots after drying). Add 2–2.5 ml of shampoo to 500 ml of water (use more shampoo at higher workshop temperatures or for complex sections).

9. The shampoo solution protects the adhesive during handling and positioning of the PPF on the area but does not activate it on the paint. Therefore, wash it off with clean water, preferably distilled, applied using a pressure sprayer in a generous amount.

10. Position and stretch the material by securing the corners of the film on adjacent sections, ensuring that the shampoo solution is washed away, preferably off the section being wrapped (e.g., secure the hood to the fenders, lights, and bumper below).

11. Carefully squeegee out the excess shampoo solution to avoid residues or bubbles, and clean the edges with pure water.

12. If immediate firm adhesion is needed, use a mixture of distilled water and IPA in a 1:3 ratio.

13. Dry the adhered film with a towel and inspect for any debris or water residue beneath the film.

14. Trim the excess material as needed, leaving 3–4 mm for wrapping around the edge.

15. Wrap the edges immediately using a non-woven fabric and a heat gun set to 650°C. Gradually squeeze out all the water from the edges while heating the adhesive side with the heat gun.

16. The vehicle can be handed over after 24–48 hours, depending on the season.
