JEM PPF Application Instructions:

• If possible, remove components from the motorcycle that might release contamination during installation (badges, trims, lettering, lights, etc.).
• Thoroughly wash the motorcycle. Remove all paint surface contaminants (tar, rust particles, adhesive residues from transport protection film, etc.).
• Once the motorcycle is positioned at the installation site, consider using wheel covers.
• Follow dust-reducing measures around the motorcycle and avoid wearing lint-shedding clothing.
• Dry PPF film becomes electrostatically charged after removing the backing layer, so it’s important to prevent dust particles from sticking to the adhesive side.
• Use proper solutions and application techniques to avoid damaging the adhesive (streaks, bubbles, glue damage, etc.).
• Degrease the edges of the parts using pure IPA and clean each component with soft clay before application.
• Gently spray both the PPF film and the target surface with a mixture of shampoo and distilled water (distilled water won’t leave spots). Mix 2–2.5 ml of shampoo per 500 ml of water (use more shampoo for high temperatures or complex shapes).
• The shampoo solution protects the adhesive during handling and positioning, but does not activate the adhesive to bond to the paint. Therefore, it must be rinsed off thoroughly with clean distilled water using a pressure sprayer.
• To position and stretch the film, pull from corners that extend to adjacent parts and rinse the shampoo solution off away from the area being wrapped.
• Squeegee out the excess solution carefully to avoid bubbles or fluid residue, and rinse the edges with clean water.
• If you need immediate and firm adhesion, use a distilled water and IPA solution in a 1:3 ratio.
• Dry the film with a towel and check for contamination or moisture underneath.
• Trim excess material, leaving 3–4 mm to wrap behind the edge, depending on the part type.
• Immediately wrap using microfiber and a heat gun. Push all water from the edges while simultaneously heating the adhesive side with a heat gun set to 650°C.
• The motorcycle can be handed over 24–48 hours after application, depending on the season.
