Kit contents:

• 300 ml shampoo/H₂O solution
• 300 ml IPA/H₂O solution
• 10 cm squeegee
• Utility knife

JEM PPF Application:

• If possible, remove parts from the vehicle that might release dirt during installation (badges, trims, letters, lights, door handles, etc.).
• Thoroughly wash the vehicle. Remove all contamination from the paint (asphalt, airborne rust, adhesive residues from protective film used during new car transport, etc.).
• Once positioned for application, it is advisable to cover the wheels and connect the vehicle to a maintenance power source.
• During work, try to minimize dust around the vehicle and avoid working in clothing that may shed fibers.
• Dry PPF after removing the backing layer is statically charged, so it is important to prevent dust particles from sticking to the adhesive side.
• Use the correct solution and application technique to avoid damaging the adhesive, which can cause unwanted streaks, bubbles, or adhesive cracks.
• Degrease the edges of the part to be bonded with clean IPA and decontaminate each part before application with a soft clay bar.
• Lightly spray the shampoo and distilled water solution on the part to be bonded and both sides of the PPF (distilled water will not leave marks when dried). Add 2–2.5 ml shampoo per 500 ml water (more shampoo is recommended for higher workshop temperatures or when applying complex parts).
• The shampoo solution protects the adhesive during handling and positioning of the PPF on the part, but the adhesive will not be activated on the paint. Therefore, it must be rinsed off with clean water, preferably distilled, poured generously using a pressure sprayer.
• To position and stretch the material, hold the foil corners on surrounding parts and rinse off the shampoo solution preferably outside the part to which the PPF is applied (e.g., hold the hood by the fenders, headlights, and bumper).
• Carefully squeegee off excess shampoo solution to avoid residues or bubbles; rinse edges with clean water.
• If immediate strong adhesion is needed, use a distilled water and IPA solution in a 1:3 ratio.
• Dry the applied foil with a towel and check for any dirt or water residues underneath.
• If necessary, trim excess material according to the part type, leaving a 3–4 mm overlap to fold over the edge.
• Immediately fold using a nonwoven cloth and a heat gun. Gradually push out all water from the edge while heating the adhesive side with a heat gun set to 650 °C.
• The vehicle can be handed over after 24–48 hours, depending on the season.
