PPF JEM Application:

• If possible, remove parts from the vehicle that might release dirt during gluing (emblems, trims, inscriptions, lights, handles, etc.)
• Wash the vehicle very thoroughly. Remove all contamination from the paint (asphalt, flying rust, adhesive residues from protective film used during transport of a new vehicle, etc.)
• After positioning the vehicle at the application site, it is advisable to use wheel covers and connect the vehicle to a maintenance power source.
• Try to minimize dust around the vehicle during work and avoid gluing while wearing clothing that may release lint.
• Dry PPF, after removing the carrier layer, is statically charged, so it is important to work in a way that prevents dust particles from sticking to the adhesive side.
• Use the correct solution and gluing technique to avoid damaging the adhesive and the formation of unwanted streaks, bubbles, or adhesive tears.
• Degrease the edges of the glued part with pure IPA and decontaminate each part before gluing with soft clay.
• Lightly spray a solution of shampoo and distilled water onto the glued part and both sides of the PPF (distilled water leaves no stains on the vehicle after drying). Add 2–2.5 ml of shampoo to 500 ml of water (more shampoo is recommended at higher workshop temperatures or when gluing complicated parts).
• The shampoo solution protects the adhesive during handling and positioning of the PPF on the part, but it will not activate the adhesive on the paint. Therefore, it must be rinsed with clean water, preferably distilled again, applied in larger quantities using a pressure sprayer.
• For positioning and stretching the material, hold the corners of the foil on surrounding parts and rinse the shampoo solution preferably off the part to which the PPF is applied (for example, hold the hood on the fenders and below on the lights and bumper).
• Carefully squeegee off excess shampoo solution to avoid residue or bubbles, and rinse edges with clean water.
• If you need to fix the material firmly immediately, use a solution of distilled water and IPA in a 1:3 ratio.
• Dry the glued foil with a towel and check that there are no dirt or water residues under the foil.
• Trim excess material as needed and according to the part type by 3–4 mm for folding over the edge.
• Immediately fold using non-woven fabric and a hot air gun. Gradually squeeze out all water from the edges while heating the adhesive side with a hot air gun set to 650°C.
• The vehicle can be handed over after 24–48 hours depending on the season.
