Isopropyl 1 l – Professional Cleaner for Surface Preparation Before PPF Film Installation

Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) with a purity of at least 99% in a larger, economical 1-liter package is ideal for professional surface preparation before applying PPF films. It reliably removes grease, dust, waxes, and polish residues, ensuring a perfectly clean surface free of residues and streaks.

Thanks to its fast evaporation and gentleness to surfaces, it is suitable not only for car bodies but also for plastic and glass parts. It can be used alone or as part of an installation mixture with distilled water. The 1-liter volume is suitable for regular use in workshops and mobile applications.

PPF JEM Application:

• If possible, remove parts from the vehicle that could release contaminants during installation (badges, trims, logos, lights, handles, etc.)
• Thoroughly wash the vehicle. Remove all contamination from the paint (asphalt, flying rust, adhesive residues from protective film used during transport of new vehicles, etc.)
• After positioning the vehicle for application, it is recommended to use wheel covers and connect the vehicle to a maintenance power source.
• Try to minimize dust around the vehicle during work and avoid wearing clothing that could release lint.
• Dry PPF film after peeling off the carrier layer is charged with static electricity, so it is important to work in a way that dust particles do not stick to the adhesive side.
• Use the correct solution and technique to avoid damaging the adhesive and thus avoid unwanted streaks, bubbles, or adhesive tears.
• Degrease the edges of the part being applied with pure IPA and decontaminate each part before application with soft clay.
• Lightly spray a solution of shampoo and distilled water on the part and both sides of the PPF film (distilled water does not leave stains on the vehicle after drying). Use 2 - 2.5 ml shampoo in 500 ml water (more shampoo is recommended at higher workshop temperatures or for complex parts).
• The shampoo solution protects the adhesive during handling and positioning of the PPF film on the part but does not activate the adhesive on the paint. Therefore, it must be rinsed off with clean water, preferably distilled water, poured into a pressure sprayer in larger quantities.
• For positioning and tensioning the material, hold the corners of the film on adjacent parts, and wash away the shampoo solution preferably outside the part where the PPF is applied (for example, hold the hood on the fenders and lower on lights and bumper).
• Carefully squeegee off excess shampoo solution to avoid any residue or bubbles, and wash the edges with clean water.
• If you need to fix the material immediately permanently, use a solution of distilled water and IPA in a 1:3 ratio.
• Dry the applied film with a towel and check for any dirt or water residues under the film.
• Trim excess material by 3-4 mm as needed for folding over the edge.
• Fold immediately using non-woven fabric and a heat gun. Gradually press out all water from the edges while heating the adhesive side with a heat gun set to 650°C.
• The vehicle can be handed over after 24-48 hours depending on the season.
